60 YEARS OF PORSCHE RACING AT KYALAMI

the history of Porsche racing at the Midrand circuit from 1961 to present day.
The 378-page high-quality large format book (280mm x 240mm) covers the vast and
impressive competition history of Porsche at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit with forewords
by Toby Venter, Derek Bell, David Piper and Sarel van der Merwe.
Spanning over six decades, the publication highlights the Porsche cars, engines, and drivers
who raced at Kyalami in the international endurance races, including the Porsche 944 Turbo
Cup Series which ran from late 1987 until the end of the 1989 season. Also featured is the
brand’s brief, but successful return as an engine supplier to McLaren in Grand Prix racing.
The book contains over 550 images, most of which have never been published before, each
accompanied by a detailed caption in both English and German.
Legendary motoring scribes, Roger McCleery, Stuart Johnston, André de Kock, Hendrik
Verwoerd and Roger Houghton each pen a story of their unique Porsche Kyalami memories.
Renowned Porsche historian Wernher Hartzenberg makes a fascinating contribution
covering the early racing years.
